Dimmes Doornhein brought the concept of Teleports to Amsterdam in 1985, after ten years in the management of large-scale urban-development projects (including London and Amsterdam). In 1987 he started the telecom consulting company DDV, later DDV Telecommunication and Media Consultants. As general manager, he was responsible for the international expansion of the company with a network of offices in 6 countries. Since the sale of DDV to Logica PLC in 1999, Dimmes has worked as an investor and interim manager. As should be clear, he is an experienced businessman who has run, and sometimes reorganized, companies in various sectors. Under his management, two companies (including a company listed on the stock exchange) were rescued from judicial administration and started up again. Through a series of positions on boards and as a consultant, Dimmes has also acquired a great deal of experience in the development, restructuring and startup of firms, including in the telecom and software sectors. Recent projects included the management of a store chain, the restructuring of a recruitment and selection agency and the role of preparing and organizing for the Science Park Utrecht.
